In terms of fashion, at the end of the day – you should do whatever you want BUT, that being said this is a really good quote by Edith Head (something the “rule of a lady” people forgot to mention!!). Edith is an 8 time Academy Award winner for costume design and designed for some of the most beautiful women in the world – Elizabeth Taylor, Audrey Hepburn, Katherine Hepburn, Grace Kelly and Sophia Loren.. just to name a few.
She really hits it on the nail with this… I’ll be the first to admit that when I was younger I could have cared less about being a lady! I was a geek for so long with a flat bum and no boobs that when I got some (a little) I was just like WOOHOO! If I’m going clubbing or something I’ll wear whatever I feel good in but otherwise I think this is a great rule to have in mind when picking out an outfit. Tight enough to show you’re a woman, loose enough to show you’re a lady. DONE!
